What is the source of your forecasts?

FocusEconomics “Consensus” Forecasts are a mean average of individual predictions from our panel of leading professional forecasters, which we survey every month.

The “Min” represents the most pessimistic forecast, while the “Max” represents the most optimistic forecast from our panel of experts.

What forecasters make up your panel of experts?

Our consensus panel is made up of the world’s leading banks, professional research houses, ratings agencies, and reputable local consultancies and think-tanks in over 130 countries.

Our in-house team of economists survey a network of analysts each month, then verify and harmonize all forecasts to ensure cross-comparability.

What countries, commodities & indicators do you cover?

FocusEconomics provides forecasts and data for over 130 countries and 34 key commodities, and hundreds of indicators.

How can I access your reports?

You can access FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast reports from the “Report & Data Portal” by clicking on the region or country name. This will take you to an online folder with the last 12 editions of our monthly reports, which you can view and download. 

How can I export data to Excel?

You can export data in XLSX or CSV format using our “Data Export” dashboard, which allows you to select the countries, indicators and time periods you need.

How can I compare multiple indicators in a single graph?

In our “Country Summary” dashboard, you can compare multiple indicators in one chart for any country you select. You can also change the chart type and enlarge the graph if needed.

How can I make graphs bigger?

You can right click on any graph to enlarge it, selecting “Show as a table”. This will take you to a larger version of the graph, which you can easily clip out for your own reports or presentations, and also show you the underlying data in a table.

How can I compare countries?

You can compare indicators across countries using our “Country Comparison.” dashboard. This shows you the latest data and Consensus Forecasts for all variables (a mean average of predictions from our panel of forecasters) for the next 5 years, which we update every month. 

To see the list of forecasters that make up our Consensus Forecast, you can drill through on any graph.

How can I save my selections for the next time I use FocusAnalytics?

You can create bookmarks, which will save your country/indicator selections so you can easily come back to them the next time you log in to FocusAnalytics.

How can I add a chart to my Powerpoint presentation?

To quickly add a chart to your own presentation or report, prepare your chart in our dashboards and use Microsoft’s built-in screen-clipper to quickly add it to your presentation.

How can I see each forecasters' individual prediction?

You can drill through on any graph to see the list of professional forecasters that make up FocusEconomics’ consensus panel, alongside their individual forecasts.

You can also compare each forecasters’ prediction for any specific country, variable and forecast period in our “Forecaster Comparison” dashboard, as well as build your own Consensus Forecasts, by selecting individual sources.

How can I see best to worst-case scenarios for specific countries & indicators?

Our “Scenario Building” dashboard allows you to plot min, max and average forecasts from our panel of forecasters for any country and variable, looking ahead 5 years. You can also drill-through to see each individual forecasters’ prediction.

How can I build (and export) my own Consensus Forecasts?

With our “Forecaster Comparison” dashboard, you can compare forecasters’ predictions for any country & variable. You can easily identify & isolate outliers or select individual sources to build your own Consensus Forecast, and then export the underlying data to Excel.
